Blake Mycoskie, an entrepreneur, went on a trip to Argentina, he saw lots of kids with out shoes. He wanted to do somthing about it. So, he formed a company called Toms Shoes. Toms was created in 2006. The buissness was simple, for every shoe sold a new pair is donated to the children in need of shoes. Then he has now donated over 75 million shoes to kids in need. More people have started to make more foundations like, get one bag of dog food, we donate one bag of dog food at Petsmart! Blake also makes and sells socks for kids with new shoes and we should all be inspired by it.
I have 4 brothers they all play/watch/do football and are alway wanting little sis or big sis to join mostly my littest. But ever sincei have started playing football with tthm i have always wondered what footballs are made of so i looked on wonderoplis what foootball are made of? Well guess what they had an artical on it.The earliest games of football featured mobs from opposing villagesattempting to kick an inflated pig bladder into the balcony of theiropponents' church!
Why pig bladders? Before rubber was invented, animal bladders wereeasy to get. They were basically round, lightweight, easily inflated andfairly durable. The oldest football ever found was made in the 1540s. It consists of apig bladder covered with pieces of leather, possibly from a deer. Itwas found in 1981 at Stirling Castle in Scotland. Of course, it wasn't always the most pleasant task to blow up a pigbladder to use as a football. So when rubber was invented in the mid-1800s, pig bladders took a back seat to inflated rubber balls.Eventually, leather coverings were added to strengthen the balls andmake them easier to handle. The shape of the football eventually changed from a round ball to itscurrent elliptical shape with pointed ends (also known as a prolatespheroid). The new shape allowed the ball to be thrown farther with aforward pass. Modern footballs are about 12 inches (one “foot") long and about 22inches in circumference (around) at the center. Many people wonderwhy they're called "footballs" when most of the game is played with thehands. Even though footballs are kicked occasionally during a game, thename most likely arises from the fact that the game has always beenplayed on foot rather than on horseback, like the game of polo thatwas more popular at that time. Modern footballs used in college games and professional leagues aremade of leather. Footballs still have an internal bladder, but todaythey're made of polyurethane or rubber. Laces hold the leather panels of the football together and provide a good grip for throwing the ball. Manufacturers also usually stamp the leather panels with a grain-like texture to help players hang onto the ball. cotton candy is sold at many fairs. it has the same amount of sugar. it normally weighs under 1 ounce. A long time ago the sugar was only made for the rich.spun sugar was called fairy floss. the mixture was sold for 25 then now its $7 a box!! it has improved since then. now its a fair favorite and is sold almost at every fair.
